IN WHICH BEAR SHARES AN "INTERESTING" DISCOVERY

I came home from Blogland Lane to pick up some more supplies and check around. It was a 'interesting" decision, in terms of reading some of my mail.

There are those in this world who would describe the Bear as seriously disturbed or seriously demented. I, of course, reject those titles. I am, properly speaking, "wondrously peculiar." (Though Pooh Bear might say, "Same thing."[1])

However, I have a writer friend named Lana, who is about as peculiar as I am. Her blog is called Fiendish Serendipity. If you're not reading it, I think you should be. I discovered it, serendipitously, during last month's A -Z Blog Challenge.

To the point: she shared the following picture recently. It is, I believe, a Hyena, or a Dingo. She says (if I remember correctly) it was attached to an e-mail note from a writing partner.

Yes, well, um. . . .

I think I need to remember that phrase.

Blessings and Bear hugs, friends!

Addendum

Have you noticed my new portrait at the top of the "About the Bear" section of this blog's right column? I think it's from my pal Wendy at the "Bear With Us Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Centre for Bears." It's a Facebook page about saving Bears, and how people can get along with Bears so Bears don't have to be killed. I would encourage you to check that out, too.

As I said I think it is from Wendy. But I'm not sure. Lately I've been filing too few things in my brain's Memory and too many in its Forgettory. Sigh!

Footnote
[1] The phase pops up on a number of occasions in the book, The Tao of Pooh. I have been encouraged to read that. It is a "fascinating" book, as Mr. Spock might say.

    1. If you love that pic and quote, you may be a "wondrously peculiar" as the Bear. Are you sure you want that reputation?

  5. Oh my. I'm going to have to remember that one. What a hoot!

I'd be willing to bet that you and your pal Wendy are well familiar with Charlie Russell and his life with bears. When he was featured on The Nature of Things, it gave me an entirely different perspective and mindset about these beautiful grizzlies.

  12. Nice to find you here, Lollipop...but triple dipped in psycho...maybe double but triple is a bit excessive, no? I did laugh out loud at lana's site. ANd the bear site is fabulous. I sent that one out to a mess of folks. Hope you are enjoying the Tao.

    1. I'll agree with you that three seems excessive. But that's how the quote came, and I couldn't entirely disagree at that point, since there was a huge black dog curled up at my feet. As Sir Winston might say.

Glad you enjoyed the rest. And the Tao is thought-provoking. I am learning who I am — who I was perhaps a bit frightened to let out. Well, tomorrow will deal with that!

  14. Th tao of Bear is a fascinating concept, it came out while we were in London. We all get put under the name of one character. Someone once said i was a Tigger (I think they were suggesting in an annoying way) better than being a total eyore though in fact I'm someone in between.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, you certainly have enough bounce to be a Tigger. That is a good thing!

We used to think I was a Pooh Bear. Truth is, I'm depressive enough to be an Eeyore. Sigh!

    1. OH, gad zooks! Yet another award!

Thank you so much, Jamie. That is tremendously kind of you!

To tell the truth, I'm frankly amazed by all the gracious and thoughtful souls who have given me awards. Yet, I cannot remember how many of them I have to complete. Perhaps I'll never get back to those.

This is the downside of being a Bear. Humans give me Human awards. Which is delightful. But overwhelming. Really, overwhelming is the best word. This process makes me anxious like nothing else I have experienced. Strange; very strange.

Anyhow, my blogs are becoming a non-award zones as of June 1, 2013. The only exception to that will be people who give me "Bear-type" awards. Bear-type awards are shiny and don't take any work. Things like gold, silver, diamonds, emeralds, lids of tin cans (as long as they have been well cleaned). Yes, the world looks different from a Bear's perspective.

Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!

      Blessings and Bear hugs!

So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE AND MEME-FREE SITE. While I'm honoured to receive awards, I find they take way too much energy in completing. Thanks, but no, thanks.
