IN WHICH BEAR INVITES YOU TO SOME PURE ENJOYMENT

So, maybe I'm a bit strange (but you already knew that). Not only strange in my behaviour, but in my taste in music (according to some). Classical, to be precise. Not the Foo Fighters. Classical music. Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Handel, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and the rest. High octane music, gang!

Think Mason Williams doing "Classical Gas" with some symphony or philharmonic. Right, you got it. I've seen it happen: Williams doing "Classical Gas" with a whole orchestra!

Sorry for the digression; sometimes I get just too darn excited!

But this is a lot more fun than even Williams with an orchestra. Check it out.

(BTW, if you don't want to take five minutes for something wonderful, please move on to the next blog. Well, this time, only.)

Here we go!

Blessings and Bear hugs, friends.

  3. Rob, when I got out of college I had a non profit job which included a volunteer fundraiser by the Boston pops and Boston symphony. I was to coordinate the event and find accompanying performers. Mason Williams ' agent didn't hesitate as it was to be his first gig with an orchestra. His agent was aliitle miffed when Peter Paul and Mary were added to the program, but it was quite a show. I knew nothing but even still
It was up to me to bring Arthur fief let's scores to mason Williams at his hotel room. Pretty heady for a 22 year old English major!

    1. That is the most amazing story kj! Thanks for sharing it. Talk about a real moment of fame! I just wish I could have been there! I might even have met you — someone even more important (to me) than Mason Williams!

And I hope you're healing well.

  9. I've seen this a few times before, thanks to other bloggers. It didn't keep me from weeping real tears of joy for seeing this again. I love the children, the juvenile conductors, and the sheer joy that everyone experienced. And I continue to feel joy erupting from my heart! Thank you, Bear. It was a sheer joy to smile and cry with them. :-)

  17. I personally like classical music too, especially playing it on the piano. There is no other kind of music I would personally rather play than classical.
It is a lot more fun because it is challenging. Like aerobics for the fingers and soul.

  20. Hey Bear! My secret fantasy is to begin, be the leader of a flash mob. My background is classical music ~ flutist and all ... wonderful post, my dear!

    1. Helen: the classical musician. Why does that not surprise me? You are such a Renaissance gal, it's almost frightening. To a Bear, at least. A Renaissance Bear.

I hope you keep playing your flute. IT IS SUCH DELIGHTFUL MUSIC!

So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE AND MEME-FREE SITE. While I'm honoured to receive awards, I find they take way too much energy in completing. Thanks, but no, thanks.
