Did somebody say something
about taking time to smell the flowers?
Smart Human, that one.
Maybe it was Woonie Helen
of Poetry Matters fame,
who supplied this Bear picture.
Something for Sunday
Blessings and Bear hugs, friends.
So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE AND MEME-FREE SITE. While I'm honoured to receive awards, I find they take way too much energy in completing. Thanks, but no, thanks.
Blessings and bear hugs back to you, dear Bear! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, DJan. This feels like such a springy-symmery kind of picture. Perfect for today.
DeleteSpeaking of today, I hope you have a delightful day playing in the sky today. (The idea scare the wits out of me, but I know you can have fun doing it!)
Blessings and Bear hugs!
Good quote, R-bear. Ain't it so that the ones who think they've arrived are the ones to steer clear of...
ReplyDeleteThat's why I thank God (literally) that I have not arrived. I'm still "in transit" so to speak. Or "in process." Or something like that.
DeleteHope you're having a great weekend.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
I always say ... Nothing nicer than lying in the grass, flower sniffing!
ReplyDeleteBetter sniffing flowers than sniffing Oregano.
DeleteSee what happens: you give me a picture, or a good line, and I'm away to the races, or hell bent for fun times, or something like that. Say, is it actually possible to have to much fun? (I think I know your answer, but I'll let you tell me.)
Hope your weekend is going delightfully!
Blessings and Bear hugs!
Of course, the answer is yes, dear bear.
DeleteAh ha! Yes!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs! For everything!
What a beautiful picture. Sigh...Have a lovely sunday. Journey on, be well. Z~
ReplyDeleteYes, the picture is beautiful.
DeleteYou can take the Bear out of the woods, but you cannot take the woods out of the Bear.
I do hope you're having a fabulous weekend.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
I like that quotation. I have not arrived.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Glad you're enjoying it, Janie. And I'm a long way from "having arrived," too.
DeleteSo, you'll understand why my e-mail address beings with "desert.epiphanies." As in surprising discoveries made in the desert (physical or metaphorical) by Bro. Bear of the Desert.
Trust your weekend has been much fun.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
I'll smell the roses tomorrow; working on the Writer's Digest Competition today; deadline is tomorrow. I saw you had stopped by and just wanted to say "Hello, old friend Bear!" :)
ReplyDeleteMama Bear Musings
Actually, smelling the daisy. But that doesn't really matter. As long as you can digest the competition, you'll do fine.
DeleteHope the project works out delightfully.
Blessings and Bear hugs.
During these past few perfect days it wouldn't have surprised me at all to see a bear gazing at the sky through a flower. It seems everybody was doing it.
ReplyDeleteYou mean everyone is pretending to be a Bear? Whoa; what is happening to the world?
DeleteHope you've had a grand weekend.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
That picture is just way too cute. Slowly down to smell the roses so to speak is a nice way to stop and really see those amazing little things around us that we sometimes miss when we are busy and on the go.
ReplyDeleteDark Thoughts Blog
Yeah, smelling the daisies is good. Because, as you say, it provides the chance to notice a lot of other things which otherwise might be missed.
DeleteHope you've had a fine weekend.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
That picture is a keeper. How sweet to have a bear smelling the daisies. I have 2 bears that belonged to my mother and I move them around and I don't know what to do with them. They look like the old fashioned kind of bear. I feel I should keep them near me because my mother liked them so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you could see the rest of the picture, Bear's got the daisy between his toes, not his fingers. Total relaxation.
DeleteIf you ever run out of things to do with your Bears, pls. let me know. I might be able to find a good use, or place, for them.
Blessings and Bear hugs at the end of the weekend!
I love the picture, Rob-Bear. Oh, to be a bear, and sleep all winter and then come out to eat some fish and, of course, smell the flowers. If life for the human could be so easy.
ReplyDeleteSorry to make my life sound so idyllic. Actually, Brown Bears don't usually live that long. About 15 - 25 years is good, but it can reach 30 in the wild or (more likely) "playgrounds" (captivity). Blacks are up to 25 in the wild, and longer in captivity.
DeleteIf you're a Brown (Grizzly) like me, over two years of age, your chances of being shot are about 95 per cent, more likely by poachers or unhappy cattle ranchers (who unwisely run their spreads into our ranges).
Now, about Bears' lives being "so easy"?
Blessings and Bear hugs, as always, m'lady!
Nice quote(s)!
ReplyDeleteIf you like 'em that much, you can quote me, JC.
DeletePeace and joy!
Bear - I love the picture of the bear smelling that flower! sandie
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy it. GReat way to end the weekend!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Smelling garlic actually but taking time to do it. Lisa xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a scentsible thing to do, Lisa.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Love the photo of the happy bear!!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy Bears are easy to deal with, too!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs, Jackie!
Wonderful quotes! I need to pay more attention to the first one. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Monday.
A relaxed person is a happier person. Or so I'm told, Dana. I know that works for Bears.

hahaha - very true words indeed!
ReplyDeleteI congratulate you, M.J., for reaching that wise decision. Thus proving you are at least as smart as the average Bear. Or something like that.

Every day I find I know less, not more
ReplyDeleteAnd that suits me fine: less to be confused by
Love

"If you've got all the answers, you haven't asked all the questions." That's something else I believe, along with the fact that each day, I seem to know less and less. Yet, though it seems I know less and less, those few things I do hold to become more and more important, and I hold them close to my heart.
DeleteThanks, kj!

Never stop learning, right?
ReplyDeleteBear hugs to you, too!
Oh, and the cat wants to know why you aren't smelling a fish.
When you quit learning, you turn brain dead very quickly.
DeleteTell Oreo the river is so polluted, I don't think there are any fish within 100 miles of this place.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
Bears Noting, Life in the Urban Forest (poetry).
I agree with that quote. Our God is so infinite that we need to keep learning for the rest of our lives.
ReplyDeleteYes, Misha. That is so very true. I think about that a lot. And I think I maybe know one tenth of one per cent of what there is to know. But the really important things are all there — God's unfailing love for us, and Jesus call for us to love God and love each other, as we love ourselves. Profound; simple; liveable, if we try.

Love the photo!! So Cute! I really like the quote as well...something to think about. Have a great day, Rob!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the pic and the quote. I normally try to leave something for my readers to consider. So, I'm glad I did for you.

Interesting quote. I may have to share that one with my client, who has been distraught the past month that she doesn't have the answers to life.
ReplyDeleteI learned a long time ago that, if you've got all the answers, you haven't asked all the questions.
DeleteF'rinstance, how does a stay at home mom have clients? This is becoming interesting. Very interesting! Bears investigation. Bears noting.

Ha Ha! Like our politians peut-etre?! xx
ReplyDeletePeut-être. But I don't know for sure.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs to all!
I am guessing that the bear in the photo munched the flower post photo.
ReplyDeleteProbably munched it. Yes. But maybe put it beside his/her ear as a fashion statement. (Some Bears like to make fashion statements.)

That photo of the bear is amazing. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think it's cute too. Nice summery picture!

Appreciating the fragrance of a flower... I see that bear is in touch with his feminine side. :)
ReplyDeleteAnita, please; don't say that about my feminine side! I'll be the laughing stock of all the boar Bears in the bush! They are not yet in touch with their feminine sides, and wouldn't understand. They would think I was strange, odd, queer (or something like that).
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Bears Noting, Life in the Urban Forest (poetry).
Okay, it will be our little secret. :)
DeleteThanks, Anita.
DeleteHowever I find a blog comment is a pretty "interesting" way of keeping a secret, since blogs are so "right out there." Fortunately, none of the other boar Bears is bright enough to read a blog, so we're OK on that.
Blessings and Bear hugs.
oooh I need to do this! that bear looks so relaxed and happy :)
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend this process, Megan. If it's good for a Bear, I suspect it would be even better for a Human. So I hope you enjoy "smelling the flower(s)."
