The monster looks like the Alien from «Alien,» and the Teddy Bear like a very small, but feisty, Ripley. I stand by my story, your interesting thoughts notwithstanding.
Of course it is pure fiction. But what fun! And ideal for a good night's sleep!
It is not yet summer, and already we're seeing temperatures almost at 30°C (86°F) Could be a long, hot summer — both in terms of atmospheric temperatures and human attitudes. A summer of "interesting news." So to speak.
I was about to say, "That's because it is an American App." I stopped myself just in time. So — I don't know. I mean, who really knows when it comes to computers and apps?
I slept with my bear He kept me company and told me stories until I fell asleep. Of course they were pretend stories I told myself through him. I think teddy bears are real good kid friends. I used him as a pillow and he fit my head perfectly so I couldn't sleep without him.
Thanks for sharing the great Teddy Bear stories. I have two; the one I got for my first birthday (when I was four months old) and the one I made. The first one is pretty battle-scarred, so I made the second one to help him out with the more adult-sized monsters-under-the-bed.
The replacement sounds wonderful! But shame on you for leaving your Teddy behind! That's pretty close to "sin unforgivable" in the overall scheme of things! I mean, after all those years of defending you!
Blessings and Bear hugs (even if you don't deserve them)!
Oh, dear! I did not know you you had to move with a broken back. That kicks "not fun" up SEVERAL notches. Now, if we can just find you a replacement Teddy!
Awww that's sweet. I can remember my childhood Teddy Bear even though I've not seen it for over half a century. Hut I've kept my sons' bears for them for when they'll actually be glad that I did.
Yes; that would work really well! I know that our local ambulance service, when it picks up a sick or injured child, provides a Teddy Bear. I think we may be on to a trend, here.
Sadly, (almost) all the fluff has been rubbed off my Bear, and the one I made didn't come from fluffy. Sigh! Of course, as the Rocking Horse in «The Velveteen Rabbit» noted, by time you have all that rubbed off, you become "real."
I never saw «Where the Wild Things Are.» My education is obviously sadly lacking. Sigh! But thanks for the thought. One more thing the Bear needs to check.
So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE AND MEME-FREE SITE. While I'm honoured to receive awards, I find they take way too much energy in completing. Thanks, but no, thanks.
That's a great image.
ReplyDeleteNicely done :)
Glad you like it, and yes, it is good!

I knew it! I have a whole bunch of them, and I wouldn't feel right without their presence in my bedroom. Now I know why. :-)
ReplyDeleteForget guardian angels; you've got guardian Teddies! LOve that you have a bunch.
DeleteI have two; one which I got for my first Christmas; one I made maybe 20 years ago.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
I have a friend who photoshopped her own kids faces onto this and their stuffed rabbits in place of the bear.
ReplyDeleteAwesome imaging! Thanks for the story, Kellie.

I agree - I love teddy bears and so do all the kids! sandie
ReplyDeleteBears: favourites of the young and not quite so young! Good point, sandie!

It was never in question.
ReplyDeleteThe great, undoubting Zoe has spoken! That settles the matter.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
My sympathy is with the monster because he's cute too, and he does have to eat.

Have you watched this video called "Uprising" by an English band called Muse on youtube?
ReplyDeleteYou should. I think I remember seeing teddy bears in it :-)
If I were a kid and if I were not already scared, that poster would do it. haha But hugging a teddy bear would give a kid comfort.
ReplyDeleteHugging a Bear gives everyone comfort, if they know the Bear. Sadly, some Bears can be a bit edgy, and thus unpredictable, when around humans.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Aw, I love this! Happy Tuesday. ☺
ReplyDeleteAww, just one Teddy Bear will do it. No armies needed.
ReplyDeleteBears can be the true stalwarts of the world. Plus, they are soft and fluffy.

Ah,we like this fiction! Sure, it's a truth we can sleep on. Hope your summer is still cool and productive.

p.s. I noticed that your Traffic Feed identifies me as a visitor from Crescent City,Cal., three hours south of here. Close enough!

It took three or four times for me to even see the little (ferocious) Teddy! That monster is pretty gnarly.

Bears Noting
Life in the Urban Forest (poetry).
I left my teddy behind when I moved from Illinois to Florida. Last year I found the perfect replacement -- a white teddy with angel's wings.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie

Aw, c'mon. I had to pack all my stuff with a broken back. X said he would send me anything I missed, but when I asked for stuff, he said NO. Bleah.
DeleteOh, dear! I did not know you you had to move with a broken back. That kicks "not fun" up SEVERAL notches. Now, if we can just find you a replacement Teddy!

Absolutely! No wonder my bears seem to look worn out. Poor things.
ReplyDeleteIt's never too late to thank them, unless they're lost (boo-boo) or thrown out (but you're not THAT crazy, right?).

ReplyDeleteOH, Hilary. Condolences on the loss of your Teddy. But what a super-smart mom, to hang on to your boy's guardians!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Awww, cute!
ReplyDeleteYup; sure it!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Exactly, only in my mind..my bear was lots bigger and had super-powers.
ReplyDeleteBigger is more visible; super powers are awesome! You had quite the Bear!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
I LOVE this picture! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, Sylvia.

A friend of mine who works in hospice says childhood teddy bears often escort for the final trip....
ReplyDeleteI have a coat that feels like a teddy bear and my clients love to touch it :-)

lol Love it. My Bear was the big one in Where the Wild Things Are. He is a Bear, right?

It's a children's book. The monster on the front kinda looks like a bear...kinda..lol It was my all time favorite book as a kid.

That creature does look a bit like a Bear, but the horns and the feet leave a bit to be desired. Perhaps a person wearing a pig's costume?
DeleteI have a little blue teddy on my night table. My daughter gave him to me. Now I know why I'm never attacked by those dream demons. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fortunate mom — a Teddy from your daughter. That is so sweet! And you are so well protected!
