This time, the news is about Miss Sadie.
For those of you who didn't know her, she was my dog until we moved to an apartment a while ago. Then I needed to re-home her.
Here's her picture — one of her best.
Sadie's new home as on a decent-sized acreage just north of River City. Her new master was a very kindly veterinarian. Kind enough to invite me out to visit when I wanted to do so. I never did. I thought a visit would be too upsetting for Sadie and for me.
Fast forward to this fall. To make a long story short, Sadie disappeared one day. Probably stolen. One of the vet's other Poodles had been stolen some years ago, before a new security system was in place. He's been hunting for her, with no success. The thief's plan was probably to breed her (though that won't happen because she has been spayed). Failing that, he/she will likely just sell her. Maybe Sadie has been sold already. I suspect so.
The only thing for which I hope is that she will end up with some people who love her. Really, really love her.
Blessings and Bear hugs to you, Miss Sadie, wherever you may be!
Today's Weather Report
Cold overnight, around -1C (about30F). Up to 6C (43 F) tomorrow. A bit cloudy, but no snow forecast.
Oh Bear, that's heartbreaking. I'm sorry. I hope that she has found a good home. Hugs to you. Best thoughts for Miss Sadie.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, HIlary.

Oh I am so sorry Bear. I have no words. Bear hugs B
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to find words, even for me. Thanks for your note.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Oh my, Rob, that is terrible. I hope she is found soon. Don't give up hope.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid she has been gone for a while. I don't think anyone will find her and return her. But thanks for your note.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
That is really sad. People are really bad sometimes. I too hope that Sadie has a good home and is happy, wherever she is. Blessings to you, too, Bear.
ReplyDeleteThanks, DJan. I think someone saw an opportunity to makes some money, and just took her. So sad for her, and the rest of us.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
I am so sorry Bear. I know what it feels like. As you may remember, our border collie went missing last January. We were so heart broken we still haven't gotten another dog. We never did figure out what happened. Perhaps he was stolen, or got stuck in some hunter's trap. He was a homebody, so he would never just run off.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Sadie is safely located, with no harm done.
I'm sad to remember your dog's disappearance. It would have been a very difficult time. I do not think I will ever see Sadie again. But I hope she will be well loved, wherever she is.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs to all of you!
Really really sad story. I hope she's okay out there. I love our dog, she's the only one who's really always happy to see me (besides the husband) all the rest (ie the kids roll their eyes when they see me)
ReplyDeleteOh, dear! Glad you and your dog get along so well. Kids — well, what can anyone say about them?
DeleteThanks for the note.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
Well, this breaks my heart. Defenseless animals do not deserve to be stolen .. Oh how I hope she is safe and sound and getting lots of hugs.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it is heartbreaking, Helen. Thanks for your note and best wishes for Miss Sadie.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Thanks, Carol. I appreciate your note.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
I am so sorry to hear this. I pray she is happy in someone's loving home.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Barbara, and leaving me such a kid note.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
She looks to be a very beautiful and sweet tempered non-human companion, Rob. I'm sure whoever has her now will be delighting in mutual affection.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for today and All Saints Day tomorrow.
She was and is a wonderful companion, susan. She was so loving and trusting, it was probably fairly easy to make off with her.
DeleteHope you has a great All Saints/Samhain.
Blessings and Bear hugs! Best regards to Crow.
It is so good to see my favorite bear!! Sadie will hopefully find her way to you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being hopeful, Susan. Truth is that she has been gone for several months. That's why I am so doubtful about ever seeing her again. Thanks for the thoughts.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
I'm so sorry. I hope she is loved wherever she is. It's still possible that she'll turn up. My Harper got out of the yard once and disappeared from the neighborhood. He ended up about an hour away from home. I know someone picked him up and took him there. He didn't go that far on his own. I suspect they wanted to breed him and then realized he wasn't a female, but a neutered male. I got him back because of the kindness of some people who found him.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Glad to hear of your successful recovery of Harper. I very much doubt we'll be so lucky with Sadie. Thanks for your note and hopes.

I'm sorry. That is so sad. I'm hoping for the best, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Reffie. I appreciate your thoughtfulness!

ReplyDelete"Oh Bear, it is very difficult to have any charitable thoughts about a dog thief, but I do share your hopes that Miss Sadie's beautiful spirit has attracted someone who is giving her love and good care.
Best wishes to you. xo"
For some reason, the comment process didn't work right.
Thanks for you kind note and best wishes.

This makes me SO angry and hurt for Sadie. Anyone who steals a dog has any kindness in their heart for the pet. Horrors abound for all the sweet innocents of the world. You know what a dog lover I am, and I am SO worried for her. At least I wish you would know for sure, either way. It's the ongoing "not knowing" that is frightening.
ReplyDeleteYes, lotta; the "not knowing" is the worst part. And I don't expect we'll ever know. I imagine if you lost Beau, life would be pretty unBearable.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
Unfair maybe, but
ReplyDeleteI would be mad at the vet for not protecting her from harm
I am sorry, bear. I know this hurts
Love
kj
Thanks, kj. I know you've been through your share of "dog problems," too. The vet actually has a fairly good security system. But no system can be perfect if thieves are determined.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
That's such a shame. Let's hope she's with people who love her, and realize what a special pup she is.
ReplyDeleteCount me in as your newest groupie. (Um, are bears allowed to have groupies...?)
Thank you for visiting, Susan, and for leaving such a kind note.
DeleteAs to whether a Bear can gave groupies, I suppose that depends on whether the groupies can bear being with a Bear. (Does that make sense?)
Blessings and Bear hugs!
Sorry to hear that. I hope she is with a family that will give her a great home.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. That's what I hope, too!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
That is so sad. Why do people have to be so cruel? I hope she has just run off and will be found soon. If not, I surely hope she is sold to a good home.
ReplyDeleteGiven the security system at the vet's, I doubt very much that she "just ran off." But thanks for your kind thoughts.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
That is awful. I am so sad to hear this and hope with you that Sadie will find the love she so deserves. ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathy.

I decided to come back to tell you about San Diego weather. Today it will be about 78 degrees. Tomorrow it will be 85 degrees. Friday it will be 90 degrees. At least at night, the temp. plummets to 65 degrees!
ReplyDeleteSorry things are so hot! We had -20°C (-4F) overnight, on th way to a balmy -15 (5F) this afternoon. I'd share some of this with you if I could, but the technology isn't in place. Yet!
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs. Best regards to the cat.
I am morose at the news of Miss Sadie. How terrible. I will follow your lead and hope that she is in a home where someone really loves her. It would absolutely kill me if Bonbon were stolen. She looks so much like Sadie, you know. Bonbon and I will think happy forever thoughts about Sadie.
ReplyDeleteSorry to have messed things up for you. But, yes, life is life, and it is no always fun.
DeleteThanks for your kind thoughts, and Bonbon's. I hope you two stay together for a very long time.
Blessings and Bear hugs!
Yes, let's believe that she is with a loving family.
ReplyDeleteA friend's sister passed away and left behind Jake, who was 11 at the time. My friend couldn't keep him, but after some work from all the dog lovers in my section of the neighborhood, we found him a home with a young, energetic woman. A mixed blessing, because his original owner was ill and the "medium sized" dog never left her house. He's a happy dog now.
I hope Sadie has a good news story going on, though we may never know.
Thanks for the good story and kind thoughts, Anita.
ReplyDeleteBlessing and Bar hugs!
