IN WHICH BEAR DISCOVERS THAT COMING OUT OF HIBERNATION WAS A MISTAKE

OK, I made a misteak yesterday. I came out of hibernation way too soon. It is so cold my feet hurt. And my ears hurt. And I feel very dishorganized.

I may not get back to hibernating, but I'm going back to my winter den. I did get a belly full of berries yesterday (and earlier this morning), so I think I'll be able to be able to get a decent rest.

"The temperature?" you ask. Below 0°F.

See you tomorrow, or later this week. Or something.

Oh, wait! Before I pack it in, I need to check on the annual "Eh? to Zed Bloggers Challenge," or whatever they call it. Mr. Kavanagh, I think, is in charge.

Meanwhile, here's something for you to consider. I'm not the only one who is up and about. So are some Elk. Some of you may have seen this before; this may be the first time for others. But it is fun; a gentle laugh for everyone.

Blessings and Bear hugs.

  8. So glad that you have all made the transition from the other side.

® Kristy: You know exactly how I'm feeling. I hope you and J do not get buried.

® Jody: Great to see you! I'll drop over your way in a bit.

® lotta joy: Actually, no. I don't feel like going back into hibernation, even though I'm still dozy and it's cold. (I can be dozy any time of the year, and the cold will pass.) I'm starting to feel excited about the possibilities of a new year!

® Jackie: It's not so cold as it is fresh, bracing, and invigorating. Cold is -40, which is the same in both F and C. I hope you have a blessed Easter.

® kj: great to see you, my on-capitalizing friend. e e cummings would be proud!

® Helen: Somehow, your transition was a bit bumpy. I did catch your note before it was lost. Thanks.

® DJan: All hugs are welcome: Bear, bare, Bearly bare, or Barely Bear. Ah, yes! My mind is starting to tick over. I'll soon be in great shape!

  10. Some friends of mine who live just outside Nelson, BC were surprised by a moose one morning who was trying to come into their kitchen. Luckily, his horns were too wide for the door.

  11. Does coffee work for de-hibernating bears?

  12. ® CC: I'm here now, and I'm staying up. I'm a bit Bear-brained now, but that should clear up in a few days. Disregard those who say that, for me, being Bear-brained is a permanent condition.

® susan: Yes. I can believe that. I'm aware of a Moose this winter that interrupted a ski race. Most Moose are better behaved than that, though.

® Cosmo: Coffee? Is that anything like tea? Tea is good, as long as the first pot is not too strong. After that, yes!

So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
