GETTING SETTLED

Slowly, pieces are falling into place. I'm helping the transition by carefully rebuilding my blog list on this side. Yes, it is a bit of a challenge; there are lot of good blogs to be moved, so I can find them easily. It will take time. As always, most recent thoughts from others on top, and that's how I check them when I wake up and open up the blog.

If you're new here, I've been blogging since (Bear checks stats) 2007, though I haven't used this blog much for a long time. So if you're hunting about, you won't see much here. (If you want to see more of what Bear has been doing, check Chrome on the Range.)

Thanks again for coming over here. Hope see you anon (an on, an on, an on!).

And yes, I'm participating the the 2013 edition of the "A - Z Challenge." I should have something here just about every day in April.

  1. I love the looks of this; you have been working hard, Bear. I'm proud of you and your accomplishments.
I also look forward to the "A-Z Challenge."
    Have a wonderful Easter weekend.
    Hugs,

    1. Hello, Laura, and welcome to the land of the Bear! I'm really not dangerous (except for some of my humour) — I'm more peculiar than anything else.

      Happy A - Zedding.

  3. Scratching you behind the ears, even though it's probably not a good idea, I just couldn't help myself. :-)

    1. Scratching behind the ears is wonderful! Feels SO good! If you've survived my Bear hugs in the past, there will be absolutely no danger to you in other friendly behaviours on your part.

BTW if you see any Bears on your mountain climbs this year, please say "Hello" for me. Thanks.

  4. I'm now your latest follower and must change out your blogs on my Favorite Blogs list. Blogging is a lot of work, or so it seems. I'm looking forward to reading your A to Z notes.

    1. Thank you for joining in. I hope the trek to the new location is good.

Love your dogs. Soldier is so courageous. Samson is a snow storm on four legs. (Well, with all that hair, it probably seems like a snow storm.)

See you from A-Z (or as far as I get).

Blessings and Bear hugs to all.

  5. Cat is excited to hear about the bear up in Canada. He asked if there was food involved and then he saw the bear photo and ran away to hide.

    Sigh.

    1. Cat probably just realized that, if I threw a party, either Oreo or Evil Twin would be the food. Or maybe both. But don't tell them. A scared critter doesn't taste that good.

Blessings and Bear hugs! (Bear smiles wickedly!)

    1. Yes I am awake. (OK, for you — the truth. I'm only half awake.) But awake enough to travel from A to Z and live to tell the tale.

      Hope you're staying well.

      Blessings and Bear hugs.

  7. Hello dear Bear.!

Popping in to wish you Happy Easter, missing you on the perch, the perch can get lonely at times with no owls about. I am just trying to catch up Bear, sincere apologies for not stopping by lately. Best of luck with the A - Z posts, will stop by again soon. I am sure there will be H for honey, Bear's favourite.!

    Hugs from Chief Owl.!

    1. Camilla, it's wonderful to hear from you! I've been a bit afraid that a Bear might be too large for the Owl Perch. So, if I come by, I'll stay on the ground or sit on the roof. I don't want to cause any significant damage.

H for honey! Yes, of course! That is ideal, Camilla. Thanks for the help.

      Blessings and Bear hugs.

    1. Hello, kj. If you're inclined to follow along anything I'm writing, THIS is the place to be. Everything else is history, or poetry, or in French (which might be Greek to you — do you read French?).

Yes, you have come with me on my List of Favourite Blogs. How could I miss the adventures of kj, and Chase, and emily jj rabbit? (If Emily comes by, I have a few jelly beans, which I would swap for an avocado or two. Or is she into artichokes now?) I was also told (by a very reliable source) that living in Saskatchewan is like living in a witness protection program — so you can tell emily she will be very safe up here.

      Blessings and Bear hugs.

  10. It's nice to see a new post and to know you're getting along okay so soon after hibernation.

I've been having trouble these past few days when an error message pops up when I attempt to adjust my blogroll. I'll try again right now but in the meanwhile I'll visit by way of Chrome.

    Happy Easter, Bear.

    1. Oh, susan: I am sorry to hear of your technological problems. "To err is human; to really foul things requires a computer."

Yes, I'm up and mobile (more or less). It is cool (-4C or 29F) but it is sunny. We've had the cubs (our grandkids) with us all weekend, so that's been fun.

Has Crow been home, or away?

Hope you're having a wonderful Easter!

    2. It turned out my blogroll really did break between one day and another (I'd added someone 24 hours previously). Since I didn't want to abandon it entirely (I tend to be sentimental), what I did was add the same kind of blog list you use here, one that lists my few still active contacts. I'm not big on the idea of being popular but it's nice to stay connected.

The weather has been pretty nasty (for my taste and after becoming habituated to the US west coast). Yesterday it snowed again and we've had winds high enough to keep that 'feels like' temperature far down in the negative number scale. Crow wrote to say he'd continue his research and visits with old friends in warmer climes for the time being.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time with your grandchildren and hope the Easter weekend was good to you.

    3. Oh, dear; broken things are not fun, especially blogrolls. Like you, I'm sentimental — I'd hate to lose track of all my bloggy friends. But I couldn't handle 700 or a thousand. How could one keep up with, or even remember, that many people?

Halifax is definitely not California, or BC (short for British California). Snowed again = more snirt? Sigh!

Crow is smart. Since he lives simply, and can fly himself around, it's not expensive for him to visit friends in warmer climes.

It was good to have the Cubs here for the Easter weekend. Easter Day, sadly, I woke up at a good time, took a look at the world, went back to bed, and slept until noon. Grrrr.

      Blessings and Bear hugs!

So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE AND MEME-FREE SITE. While I'm honoured to receive awards, I find they take way too much energy in completing. Thanks, but no, thanks.
