IN WHICH BEAR SHOWS HOW HARD IT IS TO BE AN URBAN BEAR

If I knew who's picture this, I'd give credit.

Any questions? Right, then. You do understand.

Blessings and Bear hugs!

Today's Weather Report
Dark, cloudy, -6C (21F), feels like -17C (1°F). We got a bit of snow today. I need to find a cave and crawl in for a few days.

    1. Thanks, Buttons. I hope your girls don't become urban cows.

  3. It's not easy to be an urban Junebug, either. I look out of my living room window, and I see people! Shocking.

    Love,

    1. OH, dear. You life is more danger than mine. Junebugs get squished so easily. I hope that does;t happen to you!

Blessings and, um, er, very gentle, non-squisky Bear hugs!

  4. That is so sad, Bear.

  5. Exactly. Obviously, animals have no right to impede real estate development or other other business interests.

    1. Funny, in a sad way. Glad you've hit spring; we are still very much in winter. It snowed, again, last night.

  8. Yes, it's true that the wildlife have always been here, and we wonder where they came from. Hope you find a very comfy cave that might even have some nice treats inside. :-)

    1. Yes, DJan. Bears, Racoons, Deer, Cougars. All the same.

I've figured out how to be comfy, nonetheless.

  9. I understand. Sad and funny. I saw a similar thing about a fox on FB yesterday, about how humans ruined their homes.

    1. Sadly, critters like Foxes, and Bears, and Badgers don't get much respect from Humans.

  10. It's something we need to remember about all critters.. as long as they stay outside of the house. ;)

If I could I would send some of our beautiful Colorado sunshine to brighten up your dark and cloudy day, we are so blessed with the wonderful weather here.

    Keep well, Rob-bear.

  12. Oh yes, I understand! Bend is currently battling over the placement of a brand new 4-year branch of Oregon State University. It's a done deal, but for some nutty reason, folks think they can change things. The land has been purchased, planning on Fall 2015 for first students. The only problem? It is sitting smack dab in the middle of the most heavily populated part of our city! Traffic, kids, partying, housing, infrastructure, safety, transportation are real issues. Hundreds of deer are being displaced, beautiful old pines destroyed, no bears that I know about are in harm's way. :-)

  13. Displacing Deer is just as bad as displacing Bears! Appallingly stupid!

blessings and Bear hugs! Condolences to the Deer!

    1. Dang it, rosaria, you make it sound like I should be in charge, or something. Whoever leaves a Bear in charge of anything? Other than Valdimir Putin.

      Blessings and Bea hugs!

  15. That is so sad and so true. Animals of all kinds get displaced all the time when people move into the area and then they are surprised when there are animals there.

  16. Sad, but true. Around here, it's folks complaining about the 'bad" coyotes hanging around eating poodles as they enjoy their huge, brand new country club home.

    1. I cannot believe that! (Well, actually, I can.) If you're going to have a dog, look after it, for heaven's sake. Know what the dangers are. If you hear critters howling at night, they're either coyotes or wolves. Protect your pet accordingly. Even if you have to go outside with it. God grief!

  18. Funnily enough they've just done an article here in SF about the amount of coyotes that are around. We have deers, turkeys, huge families of skunks and possums all over the show here, not a good thing for them or us.

    1. Thanks for the note. When Humans and other Creatures collide, the critters don't usually do too well. Sigh!

    2. The critters always get aggressive too because urban doesn't always cater for the instincts

    3. Yeah, Jody. Cars and critters do not go well together, for example. Cars — big, fast, smelly.

    1. We have grown to a city of a quarter million, and new neighbourhoods keep gobbling up land right and left. I know Deer have been seen regularly in neighbourhoods close to bush. It truly is sad.

  20. Love it - that says it all.

Comic strips can be quite pithy - just today I cut one out of the paper which shows a group of children all standing around a playground, each of them holding a smartphone and texting. The caption is: @Susie #Your'e it

So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
