IF SWINE FLU, DOES THAT MEAN PIGS REALLY CAN FLY? (2a)

I'm moving all my work related to A/H1N1 Influenza to my "Bears Noting" blog. This, after all, is my blog for "current news" and ethical developments.

I will be updating items here as I get information.

I have already received a bit of news from others. If you know about something that is happening in your region or country, and want to add it, please feel free to do so. That way we'll be able to keep each other informed of our experiences.

See you anon.

  1. Hello Sir Bear :)ThanQ for posting all this as it's nice to get a few facts without the sugar coated panic air the news tends to portray. I'm all for taking precautions and I'm from Minnesota, in fact I'm about 25 miles from where they have found one confirmed case and closed the middle school a couple days ago. My kids don't go to that school, but you would think one such as me with my anxiety would be a wreck. The good news is that I have yet to hear anything distressing from anyone hear and the child is recovering fine. Frankly I still have a box of duct tape and plastic (hint hint) I'm not planning on using it anytime soon but it is nice to know the media is keeping us on our toes :)
As far as making a vaccine goes for this I'm thinking we should let it run it's course. Don't get me wrong my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones to this but I'm thinking (hopefully) what little exposure the rest of us may have to this will only make our systems a little stronger for the next strain. Stay well all! and thans again for the info Bear *hugs :)

  2. pandoraskey: You're welcome, and thanks. I think if we keep this in perspective we'll live more happily. I am of the opinion that one is more likely to be killed in a traffic accident that by the current H1N1 flu. But as I've have not completed my research, now would not be a good time for saying very much.

  3. Sorry Rob, nothing to add in regards to your post. I just wanted to come by and personally thank you for the comments you left on my blog yesteday. And yes I am sure you understand. Anybody who has to make any kind of decision to end a life of a loved one, be it human or pet, knows of the heart wrenching pain involved. Today, I like to think that Casper is in a better place and is grateful to be out of pain. Thanks again.

So glad you've dropped by the Bear's den. Please leave a note -- getting notes is such fun, and often informative. I'll get back to you, here or by e-mail, as soon as I can (or, if it's winter, after I wake up). 'Til then, please Bear with me.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE AND MEME-FREE SITE. While I'm honoured to receive awards, I find they take way too much energy in completing. Thanks, but no, thanks.
